Jim joined the staff of The Generosity Trust in January 2000 after many years in ministry service with Samaritan’s Purse and The Moody Bible Institute. He attends Calvary Chapel, Chattanooga, where he is active in a variety of ways, in particular the Renew Outreach of the Church. He has volunteered as a baseball, softball, basketball and football coach, and has also been involved in missions outreaches in Romania, Bosnia, Croatia, Jamaica and Ecuador. He is a graduate of Cedarville University, National College of Education, Warren National University and was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree from Temple Baptist Seminary. Jim and his wife, Tammy, who is the Middle School Academic Counselor at The McCallie School, have two sons and a daughter, and one daughter-in-law.
Director of Finance, Accounting & Administration
Jennifer joined the staff of The Generosity Trust in October, 2014, as the Director of Finance, Accounting and Administration. She spent the 15 years prior to this as the Assistant Director of Camp DeSoto, a privately owned, residential girls camp in Mentone, Alabama. A graduate of the University of Mississippi (Accounting), Jennifer has also worked in the field of Finance and Banking in Tennessee and Texas. She is married to Carl Sheffield. They attend church at NorthShore Presbyterian Church.
Director of Generosity & Donor Relations
Maria Kain Matthews joined The Generosity Trust in July 2018, as Director of Generosity and Donor Relations. A native of Chattanooga, she has worked in the non-profit field for 35+years, including 29 years in various development and fund-raising roles with Girls Preparatory School, her alma mater. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where she received a B.S in Art History. In her free time she enjoys painting in various media, including oils and encaustic. She and her husband Dennis attend City Church of Chattanooga, where they serve as elders.
Abbie joined the TGT family in September, 2015, as the Staff Accountant. She is a 2014 graduate of UTC, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Abbie and Paul Smallman were married in May, 2016, and welcomed their daughter, Myra, into the world in April 2018. Their dog, Marlin, was also glad to meet Myra. They attend church at New City East Lake.
Sarah joined the TGT family in February, 2018. She graduated from UTC in December, 2017, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. She and her husband, Scott, are the proud parents of a three-year old boy, Elijah. They attend Brainerd Baptist Church.
Emily has been a part of the TGT family since October of 2018. As Office Manager, hers is the first face you see when you visit TGT. She and her husband Andy have two sons, Harlan and William, who are active in sports. Their dog Henna has been a part of the family since 2002. Emily and her family attend Calvary Chapel of Chattanooga.
Sarah joined TGT in December 2015. A Florida native, Sarah moved to Chattanooga to attend UTC and enjoyed our city so much that she has stayed. She and her husband David were married in April 2017, and baby Eleanor was born in December 2018. The Gribbles reside in Hixson with their beloved dog, Doc. After spending 10 months at home with family, Sarah has returned to TGT as a part-time assistant. Her 3 years of TGT experience as Office Manager have come in handy as she fits in whenever she is needed. Sarah and her family are active members of Calvary Chapel.
Mr. Lane is the Chief Financial Officer of Credicorp, based in Cleveland, Tennessee. He serves on the Accounting Advisory Board for the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga College of Business, and the Investment Committee of The Generosity Trust. He is a member of Brainerd Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and Treasurer. Bill and his wife, Laura, have 3 children.
Mr. Monroe is Co-Founder and CEO of Card-Monroe Corp. He is the past Chairman of the Chattanooga Area Leadership Prayer Breakfast Sponsoring Committee, serves on the Board of Directors of Christian Network Team, and is a member of the Chattanooga Metro Board of the Christian Businessmen’s Connection (CBMC). Charles is a graduate of the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga (BS), and is a member of Eastwood Church. Together he and his wife, Myra, have seven children and fifteen grandchildren.
Mr. Zeiser serves as Executive Vice President of Southern Champion Tray, L.P. As a third generation family-owned company, SCT has been manufacturing quality paperboard packaging products for over 85 years. Mr. Zeiser directs all the personnel-related areas of the company. A graduate of Tennessee Tech University, Mr. Zeiser has been with the family business virtually his entire life. He and his wife, Regina, are members of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, and are the proud parents of two children. Mr. Zeiser serves on several boards, including the board of Signal Mountain Christian School and The United Way of Greater Chattanooga.
Mr. Glenn is the President of Elder’s Ace Hardware, with 19 stores throughout Chattanooga, Cleveland, Knoxville and northwest Georgia. He is a graduate of The University of Georgia (BA) and Duke University (MBA). Tom serves on several boards including The United Way, Bible in the Schools, the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, the National Center for Youth Issues, and the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of Brainerd Baptist Church, where he is a deacon and has served on several committees. He and his wife, Darlene, are the proud parents of two children, Lauren and Garrett.
Betsy Blunt Brown
Mrs. Brown is President of Pendleton Square Trust Company and also serves as a Director of the Trust Company. Prior to joining Pendleton Square, Betsy worked at Cumberland Trust and JPMorgan Private Bank serving affluent families throughout the Southeast. She was a Director in the Fixed Income Origination team within SunTrust Debt Capital Markets, where she gained considerable transaction experience. Betsy is a partner in The JumpFund, an angel investment fund dedicated to investing in female-led businesses in the Southeast. Betsy earned a BS in Business Administration and a BA in East Asian Studies from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She also holds an MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to her professional responsibilities, Betsy serves as a Trustee of Girls Preparatory School, her alma mater. Betsy is also a member of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga, the Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga, and the Endowment Committee for The Generosity Trust. Betsy lives on Signal Mountain with her husband and 3 active children.
Mr. Hathaway is a Financial Services Professional and Senior New York Life Insurance Company Agent. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is a member of the Servant Christian Leadership Fellowship of Chattanooga. Gary also serves as Pastor of Greater Tucker Baptist Church. He and his wife, Cathy, have one son.
Daryl began his career as a commercial real estate broker in Atlanta, GA. In 1997 he joined the Maclellan Foundation serving on the executive committee and helping to lead its global grant-making strategy. Beginning in 2000, while at Maclellan, Daryl helped to launch several organizations: Generous Giving, Giving Wisely, Generosity Path and Global Generosity. the majority of his time now is spent in speaking and encouraging business people in the global financial capitals to be generous. He has worked with families on four continents regarding their philanthropy. He also is actively investing in private equity deals with a particular emphasis on businesses with social impact. Daryl currently serves on ten boards in both the for-profit and not-for-profit arenas. Some of his favorite pastimes include golfing, fly fishing and barbequing. Daryl holds a BS degree in economics from Westmont College and he and his wife, Cathy, reside in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, USA and have nine children.
Mr. Rolen serves as CEO of Southeastern Trust Company, an independent, boutique trust and investment firm headquartered in Chattanooga. He is a graduate of The University of Georgia (BBA) and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (MBA). Bart is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga (PCA) where he serves as a deacon and Treasurer. He and his wife, Kate, have two girls.
Karen C. Welborn
Mrs. Welborn began her career as a CPA with Ernst & Young. After graduating from the University of Alabama School Of Law, she shifted her focus to the practice of business, real estate and estate planning law in the Tuscaloosa, AL area. After relocating to the Chattanooga area in 2000, she and her husband, Miller, began Foresight Holdings, LP, a family partnership where she manages real estate holdings and securities. She has served on a variety of boards in the Chattanooga area, including the AIM Center, Girls Preparatory School, and the Lula Lake Land Trust, and also serves on the Women’s Leadership Committee of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. She and Miller have three daughters and one son-in-law.
Rev. Eric Youngblood is the Senior Pastor of Rock Creek Fellowship (PCA) on Lookout Mountain. He serves as the Chairman of the Tennessee Valley Presbytery Mercy Committee while also overseeing the Lookout Mountain Mercy Fund. A graduate of the The McCallie School, he received a BS in Finance at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. After a working at both a software and an insurance company in the 90’s, he completed his M.Div at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. Following seminary, during which he was grateful to be named a Dora Maclellan Brown Ministry Scholar, he was privileged to become the founding pastor at Rock Creek where he has served since 2001. He and his wife, Cathy, have two teenage sons and live on Lookout Mountain.
