Giving Tuesday
Get ready to kick off the giving season with a day of generosity and service! This Tuesday, December 3, 2019, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give back to our community. Since it’s beginning in 2012, this international day of giving, called #GivingTuesday, has raised over $400M worldwide and has grown to include over 100 countries.
Here in Chattanooga, we have our own city-wide community campaign on #GivingTuesday called CHAgives. The goal of CHAgives is to raise as much support as possible for Chattanooga-area nonprofits. Last year, thousands of generous Chattanoogans gave a sum total of over $685,000 to support local nonprofit organizations. This Tuesday is the day to give! Support your favorite non-profits and help Chattanooga make an impact.
In 2017, the median age of a #GivingTuesday donor was 25 according to a study by Classy. This statistic is remarkable because 25 is 12 years younger than the median donor age on any other day of the year. #GivingTuesday inspires young people to be generous. If you are a young person who wants to live generously and be a generosity leader in the Chattanooga Christian community, we invite you to partner with The Generosity Trust as a member of our Young Givers.
Want an easy way to streamline your charitable giving? Ask us about our donor-advised funds. These funds enable you to enjoy the tax advantages of a charitable donation while taking time to decide where you’d like to see the funds distributed.
