Stepping into Generosity 2026 Grantees

In 2026 we awarded $93,000 to four local ministries. We invite you to learn more about them!

Changing Direction for Success: Founder and Executive Director Gerry Davis

We are a faith-based nonprofit that ministers to at-risk youth and their families. Our ultimate goal is to “change the direction” of male youth in a way that deters them from destructive life paths. Our motivation is to fulfill the biblical mandate of Hebrews 13:16 where God commands His followers to “do good and share … because God is pleased with these kind of sacrifices.” We endeavor to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the lives of those we serve in real and practical ways.

Our request is for an extensive community service project called “Closing the Generation Gap.” The design of this project is to allow the males we serve (ages 10 to 16) to work in partnership with Widow’s Harvest on home repairs/improvement in the homes of lower-income widows in need of such services. Our mentees will partner with a volunteer team of skilled laborers who will guide them in their home repairs and improvements. This three-fold project is designed to meet the following goals: 1) bridge the generational gap between youth and seniors; 2) teach a useful trade or skill; 3) serve the needs of lower-income, elderly widows.

Kozy Farms Ministry: Executive Director Kristine Fowler

Kozy Farms Ministry is a nonprofit horse rescue and lesson program founded with the simple but powerful mission to save horses from slaughter, giving them a second chance at life, while also creating meaningful opportunities for children and families in our community. Through our dedication to both the horses and the children, we create opportunities for them to connect in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Many of our children come from foster care, face financial barriers, or have special needs, and for these children, time with horses is more than just riding – it becomes a source of confidence, responsibility, and emotional growth. We share the gospel with the kids during Bible study during summer camp and prayer times with the kids. We cultivate a culture of service among the kids, helping them be the hands and feet of Jesus in action.

We are requesting funds that would allow us to expand our pastures, including new fencing, which would allow us more space, but would also help us reduce our feed/grain costs. Ultimately, a grant would allow us to rescue more horses and allow more children to ride, learn, and heal alongside them.

Live and Love Ministries: Founders Jason and Amy Carter

We are a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to strengthening families, serving communities, and bringing hope to those experiencing profound loss. We walk alongside individuals and families in seasons of hardship and growth, offering encouragement, practical resources, and spiritual care. Our ministry to bereaved parents offers specialized care and support for parents who have endured the devastating loss of a child. Through grief support groups, faith-based retreats, and one-on-one encouragement, we create safe spaces for parents to process their pain, find community, and begin the journey toward healing.

This request would support a one-day event for bereaved mothers, called “Breathe,” providing a nurturing environment where mothers can step away from the weight of their daily struggles and experience intentional soul care. Funding will support the costs of hosting this event, including securing a welcoming venue, providing restorative activities and resources (such as guided reflection, creative expression, and supportive group sessions), and covering meals and materials. For many bereaved mothers, opportunities for respite and community are rare, but this day they can pause, find comfort in the company of others, and receive encouragement that points them toward hope and healing.

Momentum Network: Chief Empowerment Officer Cara Hicks

The Momentum Network is a Christ-centered nonprofit dedicated to empowering college students facing unplanned pregnancies and single moms who need a degree to find a pathway out of poverty, helping them continue their education, grow in faith, and build thriving families. Our ministry was founded out of a personal testimony of God’s goodness and redemption – proof that His plans are not canceled by an unplanned pregnancy or the loss of a parenting partner. Through our two-generation model, we serve both Scholar Moms and their Little Scholars by addressing academic, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Your gift would fund the development of the next phase of our MyMomentum App, a digital discipleship and goal-tracking tool that will help single moms in college take practical and spiritual steps toward stability and success. Many of our moms face overwhelming, interconnected challenges: housing, childcare, financial aid, and academic responsibilities that can make pursuing education and parenting alone feel impossible. The personalized, step-by-step app helps moms see their next strong move, track progress, and celebrate milestones. It also includes learning modules that combine practical and prayerful growth, helping moms build skills in faith, finances, parenting, and professionalism, teaching them to learn how to fish in a way that transforms generations.
